Team USA is going to have to figure some things out pretty quickly in the next month if they're to have any chance of getting out of nasty Group E. A 4-1 defeat to Germany and a 1-1 draw against Jamaica aren't exactly confidence builders.

I'm excited about Onyewu. And if Reyna shows up to play, O'Brien gets healthy, and Donovan does his thing, the red, white, and blue will make it to the quarterfinals. But that's an awful lot of ifs...

I don't read much into the two friendlies, I think Arena was using them to sort out who he wasn't going to take. Most of the starters didn't make that trip, especially those already playing in Europe.

Group E is nasty, but I think the US can and will move on, though it may mean a date with Brazil in the next round.

I think it is important for the US to have a good showing in Europe, this is their final challenge, to play well accross the pond. Do that, and everything is justified, including their FIFA ranking.
