The University of Portland women's soccer team dominated UCLA 4-0 today, taking home the women's national soccer championship and finishing the season 24-0-2. Led by NCAA scoring leader Christine Sinclair, the game was over at halftime, with the Pilots up 3-0. Sinclair finished the game with two goals, tallying a record 39 goals for the season and eclipsing Lisa Cole's 17-year-old mark. The title is the Lady Pilots' second in four years.
In Seattle, the University of Washington powered through the regular season and earned the third seed in the NCAA women's volleyball tourney with a record of 28-1. The Lady Huskies are led by Pac-10 player of the year Sanja Tomasevic and returned five starters from last year's squad which lost in the national semifinals to Stanford. The Dawgs are rolling through this year's tournament field once again and are preparing for their next match Friday against Purdue in College Station, Texas. Zoom on...
